Google for President
In an attempt to resurrect the Online Child Protection Act, which was declared unconstitutional by the Supreme Court two years ago, Alberto Gonzales has picked a fight with Google.
Gonzales has subpoenaed Google’s search records, along with those of the other major U.S. search engines. AOL, Yahoo, and MSN gave Gonzales their data, but Google is resisting.
Google co-founder Larry Page reiterated the company’s opposition Friday in an interview with ABC News.
“Our company relies on having the trust of our users,” Page told the network. “That’s a very strong motivation for us. … I think instead we should have laws that protect the privacy of data, for example, from government requests and other kinds of requests.”
First, they asked for our library records.
Then they opened and read our mail.
After that, they wiretapped us without getting any warrants.
Now they want to know what we’re searching for on the Internet.
Thank you, Google, for standing up for our privacy.
I wish our elected officials would join you in protecting us from… themselves.

I think that things have gone completely out of control with all this
“Jabber” that is going on out there. The political arena has gotten down to total mud slinging without looking at the realities. They are NOT wire tapping all of america. They are only concerned with TERRORIST activities and if they don’t do something, we will be hit again really hard this next time. Because of this ” wire tapping” they have caught three more terrorists who were training here in the States to go back to their country and show their own people how to get us, and their plot to kill Pres. Bush has been found out and stopped for now. I just don’t understand why people don’t really search things out before they jump to conclusions. Are they so far left that they can’t see anything except what they want to see ? Are people so blinded by lies that they wouldn’t know the truth when it smaks them in the face?
Every thing in the US has turned EVERYTHING so policical that we can’t have normal lives anymore. We can’t find truth in anything any more as everything is being so terribly distorted. What in God’s name has happened to our country that back biting has become the norm, and its citizens are left fighting among themselves all the time.
” A kingdom divided against its self cannot stand”. Think about it for a moment: Just as in a marriage, when the two sides in one relationship can’t get along, the relationship will crumble and seperate and will no longer exist. That is what is now happening to our great country. Why can’t we put aside our differences and concentrate on keeping our country together and safe?
