Hey!

Hang in there. As your friends who are soon to be parents in NY, it sucks here. We traded an hour and half commute for space and a good school district. We live in a 80 year old house that has done nothing but fall apart since we got here. And we don't do anything more in the city but work there and then leave.

At least you have the hope of clean air, space and a good job when you get back into the workforce. It's too expensive here, no one in their right mind with children who doesn't make 500k a year should be here.

Of course, I don't know if that helps at all.

Miss you guys tons.

When Kathie and I moved to NY with 3 mo. old Miya, we left a network of friends we'd built over years and never re-established anything like that here. But the trade off was opportunities to do things we couldn't in Seattle.

I can't say which choice is right and we certainly had other factors in our decision. All I can say is that having to make such choices is _stressful_. And it's hardest on the parent who makes the most change in their lifestyle with the move and the child(ren).
